A Derbyshire-based Engineering Company Signs 5 Year Contract with the Largest Power Station in the UK
Pearsons Engineering Services Ltd have been awarded the track maintenance contract at Drax Power Station. Through competitive tender, we pitched ourselves against a number of other larger track maintenance companies and were successful in securing the contract. Service began in November 2013 and includes railway track inspection, maintenance, repair and renewal. The contract provides a predictable revenue stream for us over the next 5 years.
Drax Power Station is situtated in North Yorkshire and it currently provides 7-8% of the UK's electricity. Early in 2013 Drax invested in significant expansion and upgrading of the power station's rail network. This was needed to provide the infrastructure and operating flexibility to handle significant, additional biomass rail traffic. We have been carrying out the work using a specifically nominated track inspection and maintenance team. The team is led by the Engineering Supervisor, Adrian Feary, who has over 30 years' railway experience.
We are a well established railway maintenace company located in the Heanor area. Specialising in the general maintenace of railway infrastructure and installation of new railway facilities. We pride ourselves in providing cost effective solutions. We employ most of our staff from within the Derbyshire area.
